No, Socket Error

    i have been using outlook express for some months now without any problems. but ovet the last few days all i get is the following error

    The connection to the server has failed.
    Account: '******', Server: 'mail.btinternet.com',
    Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL):
    No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

    please any ideas

    You receive a "Socket error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800ccc0e" error message when you try to send or receive e-mail in Outlook or in Outlook Express

    Check....

    that your firewall is not blocking the ports mentioned

    Try ....

    Turn off email scanning in your antivirus program

    Making a new dialup connection to btinternet.com through the New Connection Wizard in Network connections. Do not simply right click on the existing connection > Create copy. Use the wizard and enter the info requested.
