    Dears,

When I click Shut Down button on Windows XP Pro, I only get Log off as the sole option inside the Shut Down Windows applet that comes up. I am supposed to have Shut Down, Log off, Restart and Standby options. I will appreciate if anyone can assist urgently.

This can be configured differently for different users. I have configured a public computer (which is locked away with the monitor, keyboard and mouse accessible) enabling the administrator only to shut down or restart the system. A limited user can only log on/off. My computer speaks swedish and it is difficult for me to guide you but I found How To Use the Group Policy Editor to Manage Local Computer Policy in Windows XP which luckily has your situation as an example. Have a look around and see what you can find but if you aren't sure you know what you do ... ... then don't do it.

Yes there is a shut down button when you log off but that makes it a two stage shut down process

    You said it was urgent:eek:

In the mean time - here's another work around till you find a fix:

    Creating a Shutdown/Reboot Icon
