No screen saver blank screen

    When I return to my PC after a period of non use I am met by a blank screen, no screen saver. Moving the mouse or pressing the keyboard does nothing. I have to turn off the pc and reboot and everything then works fine, but a period of non use results in the same problem. I dont think the pc has seized as the red light flickers and the computer sounds active when I move the mouse.

    Are you using a screen saver? If so, have you turned it off?

    Control Panel->Power Options-> should look there and disable anything that is enabled.

    Most use the Ctrl key to bring them out of sleep.
