It used to be that when I was on-line and saw an image I wanted to save, I'd right-click on that image and a menu would open that included a Save as... option. Clicking on it would bring up a Save as... dialog box that would show the image file's name. I could save the image with that name or change it to something else. That was when I was using an earlier version of SeaMonkey with Windows XP. Now my browser is SM 2.0. and I have Windows 7. How do I get that Save as... option to appear in my SM menus?

I can't help you with your problem but, I can let you know that I have SM 2.0 installed and I can still right click and "Save As" the image same as you describe and as we have always been able to do with all other versions of SM

However, My OS is XP but, at least this should tell us it is caused by Windows 7 and not a SM 2.0 problem.

    My 2 Cents -- Ray

Thanks for the reply. I was curious and opened IE 8 and brought up an image, right-clicked on it, and there was a Save Picture As... option in the menu that opened. So Win 7 allows that option with IE 8. Why won't SM show it, is what I'm still wondering.

I also did a Google search for "seamonkey save as" and there were a number of posts mentioning SeaMonkey 2.0 submitted by people reporting the same problem. So is it a SM issue after all? Or is there a compatibility problem between Win 7 and SM 2.0 that affects only this one thing? Strange.

OK, now that's not fair! Why am I still not getting the menu option? My download and install of SM 2.0 was less than 2 weeks ago on a brand new computer and the install seemed to go OK and everything else seems to be working the way it should.

Thanks for the clarification. It makes a big difference. I do get that one (Save image). It's the Save as... option that I'm missing. If it was there, when clicked it would bring up a dialog box that allows me to change the image's file name if I choose to. And I no longer get that like I used to with XP and an earlier version of SM.

Since we are discussing slightly different views -- I posted what I am seeing at this link:... http://www.raysmyth.net/saveas

My 2 version are saying about the same thing excepting a couple of lines are worded differently and SM 2.0 has a few more choices.

    Fixed! Here's the solution:

    Go to:
    Preferences/Browser/Downloads.
Check "always ask me where to save files ".

That did it, but I'm not sure why. I already knew where I wanted the file to go and had entered that info. Why that check mark would change the contents of the menu is a mystery. But the problem seems to be solved.

Thanks to everyone who offered their help.
