No record of Deleted items Outlook 2003

I've jusr recovered from my first infected hard drive and reloaded all programs!!

My newly installed Outlook 2003 no longer seems to collect Deleted mail.
Occasionally i like to look back for old e-mail addresses etc.

On the Toolbar on the Deleted mail page it has "Filter applied" after the Deleted folder title.

Can anybody suggest a place for me to look. I'd like deleted messages to go to a Deleted folder.

You answered your own question. There is a filter which is hiding all the read items. To remove it go View > Arrange By > Custom... then Filter... and go through the panels till you find the culprit. It is probably one of the following:

More Choices > Only Items that are:
or
Find items that match these criteria​
