    Hello everyone
I have just re-installed windows on my back up laptop. Its pretty prehistoric, but works as an emergency ( dell inspiron 1100, running 2GB RAM on a 2.4 ghz celeron). I have installed XP SP3 back onto it, which is what it ran before with no problems..

But now, there is no network adapter coming up in the device manager, except when I select "hidden files "
    ...

Whats gone wrong? I have re-installed the same drivers as before..I cannot fathom it..

Any help would be greatly apprecraited..If I have posted in the wrong place, please let me know/move it for me..

    Andy W

    Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 3.5.8/ 3GB RAM / 3.1 Ghz Celeron

Did you try downloading the latest driver from the Dell website?

Good advice. I would add that as the NIC is often part of the motherboard chipset, you may need motherboard drivers as well as or instead of specific NIC drivers.
