no java in win xp

    everytime i go to a game site i am prompted to download java virtual machine but when i hit "ok" to download it does nothing.

    how can i download the java virtual machine, i have been everywhere on the web trying to find it???

    It is very difficult to find. The most recent version from Microsoft for XP can be downloaded here:

    shuman353--Unfortunately it is no longer at the MS site referenced in Sandi's article. It can be downloaded here

    which is the last referenced URL at Sandi's Site.
    Abraxas--I am sure you are correct with that site, but it makes me just a little concerned when all that is offered is a Download option--no discussion, no idea of version, etc.:)

    try downloading java from java.sun.com. 1.4 works fine with Windows XP.
