    Hi,

I have Win98 SE French on my office desktop. I have an IEEE 1394 (FireWire) card and a Maxtor 3000DV external hard drive attached to the card.

Everything is working great EXCEPT that I have no "unplug safely" icon in the task bar and every time I unglug the drive, I get a warning message.

The Maxtor site tells me to install a Windows software upgrade (Q242975) which I did but the result didn't change :-(

Any help will be greatly accepted ;-)

N.B. I get the "unplug" icon OK on my laptop (which has XP home)

    Regards

    Uh oh Robby
We really dropped the ball and your post slipped us right by. So sorry about that. Were you able to get this resolved?

Nope :-(. Adaptec and Maxtor told me to install the Windows IEEE 1394 update (which I had already told them that I had but...).

For the moment, the problem is still there => the "unplug/disconnet" icon is not there.

    Regards

    Robby
