Hi, can anyone tell me why that is so. Recently my Ez Firewall Licence expired and I decided to try a free Firewall. I had read some fair comment about
Securepoint Personal Firewall and went for it installation went fine and it seems to work ok. The Icon in the Taskbar tells me it is active and I know it is.
I am running XP Pro SP2 and have disabled the SP2 Firewall as requested by Securepoint, but after every bootup Windows tells me that I have no Firewall operating and that my Computer is at risk.
Why cant windows recognice this Firewall.
    thanks

hawk22--Control Panel|Security Center|click Firewall double arrow for drop down message. What does it say?
It could be that Windows Security Center does not recognize the Securepoint Personal Firewall. Maybe someone else can address this.
I use Zone Alarm Free. Works fine. Windows Security Center recognizes it, and says so on the Security CenterFirewall drop down.
P.S. How do you know the SecurePoint Firewall is working?

Hi Welshjim, thanks for your reply, I had a look were you sugested and it told me no Firewall was on, but I now have ticked the field were it says I manage my own Firewall and Windows will not Monitor.
I have tested Securepoint at Shields Up!! - Service Ports Probe and it came through very well. I must admitt though I did like Ez a bit more it gave you more Information you had more controll over the traffic, in Securepoint once you give a program the green light it will not ask you anymore the next time, it was a bit more involved with Ez as you had to give permission everytime the program asked to connect to the Internet.
Securepoint has a Expert Setting where you have to set rules, but I don't know enough to go fiddling in there.

hawk22--Thanks for posting back. Glad to hear the problem is solved.
Zone Alarm offers essentially four choices when a program tries to connect to the Internet. Allow or Deny, and then in each case you can choose whether this is for one time or for all times in the future.
