I've recently had a new hard drive installed in my asus motherboard, win xp machine and used 'ghost' to retain all programs etc. Now I can't install my nvidia drivers. **there is in fact no reference to "Display adapters" in my system - device manager**. I run the nvidia installer and it doesn't help. windows is just using it's generic driver and i'm stuck with the one screen res. ie 800 by 600 pix
    stumped?!?!
    anyone?

In Display Properties (Control Panel>Display) on the Settings tab, Advanced button, see if there's a Change button, maybe on an Adapter tab. If so, use it and see if it will let you change over to the Nvidia card there.

thanks Miz, but no luck, there is no 'display' tab anywhere in 'control panel'.
when i right click on the desktop and go to 'display' then go to 'settings>advance>adapter>properties>driver' i still get no options. continuing to click everything in sight in the mean time...
