no card reader/wireless card after xp re install

    I had a buddy install linux on my computer. It didn't work for me so I reinstalled vista pro and I can not get the sd card reader to work. It will also not detect my wireless card!:mad:

    How did you reinstall - clean install with format?

    Have you loaded the chipset drivers and any other base drivers to be found on the motherboard CD or, if an OEM computer, on the manufacturer's web site.

    Is the card reader recognised in Device Manager and Windows Explorer (it will show as a hard drive or several hard drives depending on the no. of slots in the reader)?
