    I'm using about ie 5.5. When I go to a website, everything (pictures) is O.K. When it says, "Click to enlarge" and I do, a new page opens up and the status bar acts like it's loading the picture, but nothing shows up. No problems seeing pics on websites when I am at the sites, just when I click on them to see them larger. How can I fix it? Thank you, Chris.

    If it ever worked correctly, I'd try a few "general cleanup" things to see if it would get back to normal.

    1. Delete all temporary internet files and history.
    2. Run a repair of IE.
    3. Run Ad-aware to remove any spyware you may have picked up.

    I've done 2 of 3. I will run a repair and post back. Thanks, Chris.

    Sometimes, through scripting, web site developers prohibit their images from being opened in a new window. This may not be your whole problem but might be part of it.

    Go into your internet properties by right clicking on the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop and select Properties. Click on the Advanced tab. Click the "Restore Defaults" button.

    See if that helps.

    Hi Chris,

    When you hover your mouse on the link or picture that says click to enlarge does it reflect an html url or a javascript command?

    Do you have any problem open any other links in a second browser window? Test: right click a link and select "open in New Window ".

    ============
    If javascripted.......

    The task that you are trying to complete is controlled both by the sites javascript [which is what is opening the new browser window and downloading the picture from a site with specific parameters, both for IE and the picture]. The success or failure of this rests both on the actual site you are on and on your own IE options [Security and Advanced Tab]. If your options are set to high or a required switch for this process has been disabled It just ain't gonna' happen.

    Add to that the fact that the site's server and the links they have used must be current and available,

    Your own ISP/modem/phone_line etc., ducks must be in a row.

    ==========
    If html........

    This may be one of the IE new window gotcha's

    ===========

    Does this happen on All sites that offer enlarged views of jpgs?

    Further curiousity testing......
    Any problems opening larger picture view on these sites. [Don't crtique the actual sites or pictures, I just grabbed the first ones I got from google... :D]

    Here's some html's that should load with no problem:

    Here's some javascripted popups:

    Hmmmm....... speaking of POPups do you have or are you using a AD popup stopper?

    No, I open up new windows all the time. It's just when I try to see pics.
    It does happen on all sites. I can't see any pictures after the website.
    Not useing any pop up stopper.
    Wow, it works on both websites you posted links for. What do you think is wrong if these work but none others do?

    I wanted to add that even if it doesn't open in another window, I still can't see them. Some websites when you click on a picture, another window doesn't open, but the pic gets bigger in the same window, but it kind of refreshes. So it's not, just in new, or 2nd windows that open.

    Can you give me the url to a web site that you are having a problem with?

    Are these sites ones you frequently visit?

    ===Puzzled=======
    If the links I offered worked, yours should also. As previously said, I didn't do anything special, just did google search for "enlarge picture " and snatched up a couple of the site links that showed up.

    Nothing special, I surfed, I saw, I clicked to enlarge, and got what I asked for. All was as it should be. Since these links worked, I'm curious where your doing your graphic viewing.

    ===============
    What's your IE options on the advanced tab in the "multimedia category "? Are you allowing "IE's Image Resizing "? Are you using full sized [maximized] browser windows?

    ====Google-what would I do without it???===========
    On a completely different but similar note and without foreknowledge of what it is you are doing, have you ever tried Goolge's image tab/option search. A pretty simple_user friendly_ handy-dandy thing..... and you can click to enlarge..... right click to open in new split windows, go to original site the graphic came from etc. try it and see what you think:

    http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=&btnG=Google+Search

    Just type what ever graphic your looking for your up running.

    Since I posted, I downloaded ie6. Didn't help. I have image resizing checked. I went to the site you posted and searched for "motocross ". clicked on a pic, could not see larger resized (page 1) went few pages in and still no larger pic. Few minutes later wile in the middle of typing this, went to site again (different window) wola! was able to see larger pic.
    Have tried other places and it seems I can see the larger pics, and attchments in posts on messages baords now. After months of not beintg able to see them, I now can.
    I will post back to make sure I can see them in my original window (or off one) and not just form starting in extra open windows. Thank you for your help. Chris.
