    Dear Sirs,

I can't delete an error item in the Device Manager, because I have no Administrator right.
How can I solve this problem?
    Please kindly instruct.
    Thanks.

Navigate to the program you wish to launch with different privileges. Click it once to select it, and then hold down the Shift key and right-click the program. You'll see a contextual menu from which you can select Run as... and then choose a different account.

    Dear MrBill,

    Thank you for your instruction.

Frankly speaking, I'm one of the IT people. I can't give the Administrator's password to our staffs. Is there a way to solve the issue?

    Please kindly help. TKS.

If you are the IT person and have the password, you do it. No need to give anybody the password. Or am I confused here?

    Dear MrBill,

Thank you and sorry for bothering you.

Finally, we'll offer the user with a new device which connects the user's PC via Wi-Fi. No direct connect.

Originally, we offer the user with a 3.5G modem card. We don't know why. Anyhow, it's not compatible with Lenovo Notebook model x200. An error message like "Can't detect the device." pops up when the user tries to use it. This problem can be solved by deleting the in-trouble item in the Device Manager. But it needs the Administrator right.

But since the Headquarters new security policy has taken away the Admin right from the user account, the user can't delete the in-trouble item in the Device Manager. It causes the inconvenience.

So, I came here to ask help. Thank you MrBill for your instruction.

    ---

As per the new offer mentioned in the 2nd paragraph, I think it will not arise the compatibility issue.

So, I'll close this thread and :)thank you for your help.:)

    B. rgds,
    Petermac1
