I have loaded the software (PictureProject). Everything works as expected with the exception of the email function. After I have selected a photo, then click on the email Icon (or in the tools menu - email) I get an error 'clunk' sound and the big red x. I've uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail.
I am using a Dell Inspiron 8200, XP Home Edition, Wireless. I shut down the running programs while installing and have downloaded the Updates. Any one else experience this problem? Thanks a bunch.

On the Nikon site, they have a 'cure' for that if you use Microsoft Outlook. I don't. I use Outlook Express.

Thanks for the update. You like the Nikon? I have the Coolpix 8700, and like it very much.

    Nikon 5.2

Arie, this little camera is amazing. I have only had it a few days but the pictures it takes, under very adverse conditions, come out incredibly good. It's easy to use also. I had been using an Agfa 2.5 which was very satisfactory, but of course, this one is better. If my software issue with the PictureProject that came with the Nikon aren't solved, I'll just use my old MS PictureIt to send photos. Just hate to have something that doesn't work as it's supposed to. Picky, picky. :)

This is the tech help letter I got from Nikon. Gives tech support a bad name...DUH! I suppose they have to start somewhere but my letter to them was explicit. This type tech support is the reason the BBS Exists and is so VALUABLE!!!

    Hello ***,

What is your usual method of email?
Do you use Outlook Express or a Web based application?
If you have a web base application, you will have to go through this.
You can have your Outlook Express set up if it is not at the present time by contacting your internet service provider.

    If already set up:
Go to Start - Settings - Control Panel - Internet Options - Programs Tab - Email drop down menu and select Outlook Express.

    Thank you for contacting Nikon.
    Sincerely,
    *****
