I am trying to get this camera to work for this guy on windows 98se. I need help. Its a nikon coolpix 2000. I installed nikon view, installed the drivers to no avil. it comes up in the "device manager" as a question mark names nikon DSC e2000 ( or something close to that ). any ideas? Its not the camera because it works fine on my g4 without even having to install drivers on iphoto in mac os x.
    thanks.
    P.S.
and no i dont have it set to PTP.

Hi iloveitaly - Welcome to the Board :)

Do other USB devices work on that m/c?

Check in BIOS that USB is enabled.

Hi, Instead of downloading the Nikon pics with the cable (battery
consumption !) and viewing with Nikon software, try this . . .
I bought a flash card reader - here about 30 USD.
It connects to a USB port and comes with a driver CD.
In Windows Explorer, the reader shows up as a removable
disk. Just stick the Nikon flash card in the drive and you can
browse the card and a double click will open a photo with your
    assigned .jpg viewer.
    Works fine.
    regards
