Having no network knowledge (home network with ISP share), concerned with the rash of virus's roaming the net, felt I needed some help. A cable TV computer show recently suggested GFI LANguard Network Security.
Features Overview Screenshots Has a 30 day free trial. 99% of the features used by home network user's continue to be available and are FREE for personnel use. What I liked was how well the information is displayed. Breaking information down to understandable sections, with detail support along each step. I'm just a beginner, but this tool is designed that rookie and the expert can benefit from this program. OS requirents are 2000/2003/XP and IE 5.1 or higher, Client for Microsoft Networks must be installed and NO Personal Firewall software can be running while doing scans. It can block functionality of GFI LANguard N.S.S.

    Hi Kevin

A very valid question. I'm using NAT, not the best approach in the world. This software has an numerous review support and have some large corporate user.. Daimler Chrysler, Siemens Communications Limited to name a few. I lack the expertise to "ask \ challenge" this software concern.
SO.. I have opened up a THREAD at there forum. Have started the dialog and received a response 20 minutes later from the site moderator\1036 posts. Do NOT have to register to reply to threads. I'm just trying to find good, safe software tools to use. Please join in and ask some TOUGH questions.
