This afternoon, I went to a LAN party @ a freinds house (Christmas=PC Goodies...PC Goodies=Gaming...)anyway, I cam home, hooked my PC up to my network, and got on AIM and xfire (Gaming IM Client) and as I was about to play Counter-Strike with some freinds...xfire and AIM disconnected, and Steam (program usde to launch Counter-Strike and a few other games) displayed symptons of no connectivity. I tried reconnecting with Steam, AIM and xfire. nothing worked. my modem showed ISP connection and ethernet connection to my PC. I rebooted into Safe Mode. I went into the Network Connections folder and I had a new connection: Local Area Connection 6...and under it in smaller text it said "Microsoft TV/Video Connection ". I just got a webcam a few days ago, and at first, the green light on it only lit when I used it thru AIM...but ince like 6PM yesterday, its been on constantly. I just spun it around so if sum1 was viewing it sumhow they'd just see my PC's desktop or my bedroom wall, and thought i'd take care of it l8r. So, try to remove the connection (LAN6) and it says i cant cuz sumone/thing is using it. I reboot into normal Windows mode, n go to my device manager and notice a bunch of WAN Miniport Network Cards in there. It wont let me get rid of any of em. It says I need em to boot. So, i run AVG, Spybot, and Adaware. the latter 2 found nothing, and AVG found a trojan but couldnt do anything about it. The cam has stayed on, but all except one of the WAN Miniports is gone.
    heres 2 screenshots.
*BTW, IF SOMEONE ELSE CAN HOST THESE TEMPORARILY PLEASE DO SO. I ONLY HAVE 1GB/day OF B-WIDTH*

Aku - I think we need to clear up your infection(s) before messing with anything else.

Please do another AVG scan and post details of what it can't remove and a Hijackthis log from version 1.99. Make a new thread in the security section for those items and just put in a link to this thread as the original problem.

When your critter count is down to zero, we can revisit the NIC issue here (Here being networking rather than XP since it won't get buried here like it would in XP).
