I have XP home on my computer and would like to wipe the hard disk and start fresh. I have the original installation disk. I used to do this with previous versions of windows - just put in a DOS boot disk, format c: /s , boot with CD support, and put in the installation disk. But, how do I do this with XP? How do I re-format the hard drive? After that, what do I boot with?
    Thanks,
    Russ

Hi Russ - follow through the instructions below ....
In XP SP1 the Windows firewall is OFF by default - in XP SP2 it is ON by default.
