Uninstall and remove the new graphics card - clean up the contacts with a soft pencil eraser and reinstall. If this fails to resolve the problem there is the possibility that the card is faulty.

Any chance of trying another card and/or another monitor?

    hi
i tried what u suggested and had no joy, so i took my card back and had a new one but am getting the same results, the monitor is fine. but i did come across something don't know if its relevant, when i uninstalled the drivers, and cleaned connectors, i reinstalled and it said that the drivers where already installed and do i want to overwrite them, even though i uninstalled through control panel and even uninstalled the display adapter. i did try a 6600 128meg, for a short period and seemed OK. do u think it might be a compatibility issue with the a8nsli premium, its doing my nut in big time. cheers for your help.

    jay.

    Hi Jay,

I have a feeling that it relates to monitor drivers. Did you get a drivers CD with the monitor? Check at the manufacturers website for updated drivers.

Let us know if there is any change by installing/reinstalling those.

Also get the latest drivers for the graphics card. Either from the manufacturer of your card, or directly from NVIDIA.

I have the same motherboard, running it with a 256MB eVGA GeForce 6800 GT (PCI-E) graphics card.

Pink colours on a CRT monitor can be a bad sign.

I would be hoping that it may still possibly be a monitor or graphics card drivers problem. Try running the monitor on another computer.

I had a look at a monitor troubleshooting site. Since it changes from good to bad and back again, it may just be a bad solder somewhere...troubleshooting test, see if whacking it has any effect :D (Brings back memories of the early days of television). Describe the problem to a TV/monitor repairer. See if you can get a free quote for repairs, hopefully it will just need resoldering.
