I installed a new SATA drive and it wasn't being recognized. I changed the bios to find it, I was told by the device manager that the drive is working correctly. I was able to initialize it but I can't open it. The error message I get is:

G:\ is not accessible. The parameter is incorrect.

I don't know what that means, I've been pretty lucky to get this far, I think, but I don't know what to do next. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Shirley

The new drive would have to be prepared to be accessed.

You have to create file system & format it.

In the computer management/disk management where I initialized the drive it says it is formatting it & it is up to 53% so far. When that is done, will it work or will I have to do something else?

    Thank you, Shirley

"When that is done, will it work" -> It should work when finished.
