I recently bought a new 430W power supply (TR2-430W by Thermaltake) to replace my piddly 160W original. Now installed, however, I find that I'm unable to make my XP Pro system go into Standby mode. The Shutdown and Restart options are available, but Standby is not; it's faded out. I went into the Power Settings, and could find no indication of that option being available there, either.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might be able to fix this?

Was Standby working with the old power supply?

Might look in the BIOS and make sure Power Mgmt is enabled.

Strangely enough, the Standby option is now available again. I tried it, and it seemed to work until I came out of Standby mode; something got messed up and the computer restarted. I'll try it again. Hopefully it'll work itself out.

EDIT: It did indeed work itself out. Somehow. Thanks anyway.
