    Hi All,
I've been trying the latest Acronis True Image, and so far I'm quite impressed. I particularly the Start-up Recovery Manager facility using F11 to boot into TI with no CD and before Windows boots, and the incremental back-up facility which can be scheduled. I don't need them yet, but the Disk Clone, and the Add a new HD tools look useful.
I have run into a problem with Partition Magic though. Setting up the Acronis Secure Zone for the back-ups completely screws up PM, which declares the whole disc concerned "BAD ". All discs and volumes are OK according to diskmgmt though, and all volumes are available normally, so I've passed the problem onto Symantec.

I do wish all posters to this board would make it clear in the post title,
what OS and version they are referring to. Additionally, it would help if we knew what the question is exactly which they are hoping for help with.
    regards

Having a bad day are you Merlin? No problem to be helped, I just thought that some of the readers might be interested in the comments.

Gentlemen - cool it please. IMO the thread title is clear enough - informative posts are more than acceptable - that's how we learn of the latest news/views.

    for all of you guys

For your information, Merlin is right. If you open a thread or an issue, you should specify what OS are you using and what version is the software being discussed. You must realize that what works fine in one OS will not work the same on a different OS and nthe same applies to software versions. Please, BE A LITTLE MORE SPECIFIC OR DETAILED on your comments because soemtimes they don't make any sense. Regarding ATI i have the version 7 Build 634 and it has worked Flawessly in creating and restoring FULL system Images 3 times on my Sony Laptop with Windows XP Home and I never do any incremental backups (a waste of time) always a weekly Full System backup to an External 120 GB USB 2.0 HD in less than 20 minutes (restoration takes about the same). NEVER had any problems with version 7 BUT it seems that people are having a lot of problems with the new version 8 (must have some bugs that need to be fixed) and besides, this new version does not offer almost anything that is not already part of version 7. Do not use the "Secure Zone" for backups inside your HD u nless you can not afford to buy an External HD (any backups to your internal HD will be lost in case of a HD crash or damage to physical sectors). The best backups are always done to external Media. I am vbery satisfied with version 7 and I recommend it to anybody and don't buy the version 8 until the bugs are fixed.
