I downloaded PC2303 USB to SRL driver, loaded it but it didn't appear in HARDWARE - COMM
in com 1,the default port. The " new hardware spotted" indicator on the desktop did not appear, so maybe
XP is not recognising anything new. Any ideas please ?

    Hi
Installwizard tells me it was installed successfully but it didnt appear in the hardware ports section.
    Let me explain further
I operate a ham radio logging program N1MM from a radio. The link CAT lead has always been a serial rs232 to rs232 lead and worked fine. Lately the radio lost contact with the PC and doesn’t see the comport.
I tested the serial lead and all pins had continuity but I bought a rs232 to usb lead , loaded the PC2303 software for win XP and installed it (so it told me). The loading instructions said the PC2303 would appear on com 1 the radio port but failed to. Windows says com 1 is working properly. B ecause the serial lead seemed sound I suspected the radio catport so sent it back to Yaesu and they say it worked fine with HRD, another logging program.
I downloaded HRD but could not link to the comport. It's always the comport (com 1 allocated by windows)
The result is the same on a windows 7 laptop
