I recently noticed a file in XP called "1386 ". When I looked at it, it turned out to be a HUGE File. What is it? Is it necessary?
Thanks, and have a great, great day.

The I386 folder in XP is essentially the same as the Windows\Options\Cabs folder in Win98 and, I guess, WinME.

It contains all the installation files from the Windows CD. The operating system can be installed by running the winnt.exe file within it.
