I have just installed replaced an older DVD writer drive with an OEM PIONEER DVD-111D drive. Windows XP automatically detected new hardware and installed the driver.
It reads the "header" of DVDs and CDs (displays the drive with the media name) but will not "OPEN" the media and display contents.
When I double click on the device (within My Computer) or select OPEN in EXPLORER the drive lights flashes many time then windows display a window and displays -
Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcess Memory request was completed.
Do I have a DEAD drive or is there a fix for this?
    Thanks
