Due to some recent problems with my computer I decided to format all three drives and start over with the xp update (over 98). My C,D, and E drives are roughly 12Gb, 7Gb and 6Gb respectively (plus my zip, DVD and CDRW). After the format and installation my computer is now showing those three drives plus two new drives...a 30Gb I drive and a 7Mb J drive. Now I know I didn't add any new hard drives to my computer and I know they didn't just come out of thin air...so where did they come from? Everything seems to be working okay, even faster than ever. I am even able to store some data on the other drives and retreive it with no apparent problems. Someone (only a semi-reliable source) told me that the same thing happened to them right before one of their hard drives completely bit the dust...what about it?

    Strange.

Have you looked at the drives in BIOS?

Does removing and deleting the Zip drive change things at all?
