You can copy and paste simple files like word docs and spread sheets etc. "Moving" entire programs is another matter.

You can also move entire folders of simple files by rightclicking, then drag and drop and choose "move" from one drive to the other.
Files such as .txt, .doc, MP3's etc can be moved around this way.

However, as Steve pointed out, entire programs will have to be re-installed on the new HD.

The original post is a little unclear, doesn't sound like an OS install.

If simply a new "data" drive, re-installing programs is not necessary; programs are installed to the OS, not to any particular partition. The Program Folder's location is a default to the partition that the OS is located in. Anyway, it's a bad idea to move the Progaram Folder to a non-OS partition, and doesn't get you anywhere.

If the program folder location is moved to the new drive, re-establish the shortcuts to the executables in the moved location.

    Regards - Charles
