I am recieving new pop up ads, specifically from ad.doubleclick.net and ad.adserverplus.com - they both happen at exactly the same time.

I've used spybot search and destroy, and malwarebytes to try to scan for it, and while the scans did find a couple tracking cookies, these ads are still happening.

anyone have any idea why?? or what i can do to stop it?

Your post is a little devoid of specific detail - I assume that these pop up ads only appear when browsing in Internet Explorer - or do you use another browser?

For the moment your thread has been moved to the IE forum.

The pop ups are specific to the web site you are browsing and may have been initiated recently by the web sites concerned.

You may be able to stop them in a number of ways ....

Use IE's pop up blocker - Tools > Internet Options > Privacy - Turn on Pop up Blocker

    or

Install the Google Toolbar - this contains a very effective pop up blocker which can be overridden for specific sites if required. GTB also has a very good Spell Checker.

    or

Block the websites of doubleclick & adserverplus through yout antivirus program if the facility exists.

    or

Block using the HOSTS file .....

How to Block Doubleclick.Net or any other web site

  3. to hide this advert.

Actually, it is happening in firefox only.

seems to happen if i click on somewhere that is blank in preparation to use the scroll wheel (for example, after im done typing this, if i were staying on this page, i would click out of the box and then scroll)

it also only seems to happen once per session

but isnt this some sort of spyware or virus that i need to actually disinfect, rather than just block and pretend it doesnt exist?? i know once i block it it wont happen anymore, but the root problem will still be there, right?

IMO it is not malware related, but not being a regular Firefox user I cannot comment further, except to say that if it is blocked that means that the system will refuse to connect to it.

Have moved your thread to the Firefox forum.

Did you check :Tools|Options|Content|Block popups checked |Exceptions next to it.
    Any exception can be removed
