    Hi all.
Just added a new Seagate 2TB drive to my 64bit W7 system, because I was getting low on storage space. It's been several years since I last built a computer so I'm a bit rusty, and I'm not sure I've done it properly.

Last night I used Disk Management to format the drive. It took around 3 hours. The attached gif shows the current state of the system this morning.

I'm puzzled about a couple of things.
    1) The new volume shows no drive letter.
    2) I opted to format with MBR. Should I have selected GPT? Note, my 64bit motherboard doesn't offer UEFI, just the old style BIOS.

    The 'Right Click' options are:
    Mark partition as active
    Change drive letter and paths
    Format

As well as Properties and Help, there's also Shrink volume and Delete volume, but I don't think I need to bother about those, unless I decide I need to start again.

Suggestions on my next move would be appreciated :)

You should be able to right click and select Assign Drive Letter... or words to that effect.

    Thanks, Steve.

To the other people who viewed my query but felt they were unable to contribute anything meaningful, trouble yourselves no longer - I sorted it myself.
