I have two computers running on a network. I am using a spare computer to run the network. At this moment the two computers are running win98SE as well as the server computer and all is well (internet, file sharing and printing)

I want to upgrade one of the computers to win2000 pro so I have installed a second operating system (win2000 pro) on one of the computers. The problem is that I can't get the win2000 system to file share or print share but I am getting internet access on the Win2000 system. Both the server computer and the win2000 system are not showing up in Network Neighbour.

File and prints share are installed and I am sharing the folders for both system.

You sound like you are running a peer-to-peer setup (workgroups). In that case, you don't have and don't need a server for the network.

Your file/printer sharing problem has to do with the way 2000 (any NT OS for that matter) deals with access to shares. They are completely user oriented as opposed to 9x/ME which is resource oriented.

Do a search on either this section or the XP section for file sharing and you will see dozens of threads that discuss your issue and many contain fixes.
