    - Doesn't work as in you have no connection at all?

    - Did work as in you had these two PCs connecting properly?

    - Either PC connecting to the internet? If so, dial-up or broadband? If broadband, USB or network card?

    - What networking stuff is loaded?

    - Are you positive you are using a crossover cable? Take a look at the cable ends and make sure the wires aren't going directly thru (pin1 to pin1, pin2 to pin2, etc.).

mine cant see the other comp but it can see me but cant connect

mine can connect to the net, the other comp cant , mine with the internet is broadband and network card, the other is linksys usb.

    - What networking stuff is loaded?

Not too sure what you mean by that?

    And finally yes crossover cable.

I have been on this site and tried what they say to do, done what I think it says but to no good.

What networking stuff is loaded? - as in, what protocol (like TCP/IP, NetBEUI, IPX/SPX), client for microsoft networks, file and printer sharing, etc. But based on the additional information you provided, I don't think that is the problem.

Try logging onto both computers using the exact same username and non-blank password. Then see if you can connect.

    hopefully this will last.
