ok, silly question I know but I work for a small non-profit that keeps putting off their systems upgrade. ok, again - big breath! We have a small XP system for our accounting and database programs. We have 3 other Windows 7 systems that do everything else. Up until a couple of months ago we could access the XP system with desktop remote. Now we can't because the XP system can't connect to the network for some reason. Our IT guy can't figure out what went wrong. We haven't changed anything except he did replace the WiFi router but he swears that should not have caused the problem. I know the simple solution is to upgrade the XP system but to do that we also have to upgrade the accounting software because it is DOS based. They are not ready to do that yet. Any suggestions to try and get the remote desktop working again?

I believe you have to do "Port Forwarding" to/for port 3389 for the remote desktop to work.

This message is from the computer you are connecting to (remote computer) & not from the RDP itself. If possible login to the remote computer physically & check if you are getting the same message there too.
