    ok guys, I'm missing something.

I am working on a network that is connected. All internet connections work, I can ping the DSL modem, I can ping the wireless router that is hooked up, however I cannot ping any of the computers that are connected to the network. What am I missing?

Firewalls? If you're connected ok why do you need pings?

I'm no network expert, just curious.

    ok nevermind.

Wildfire, normally you don't but it is just an easy way to test connectivity.

and you are correct they are using an aftermarket firewall that I had added an exception to, but i forgot that they probably still had windows firewall active. once I killed windows firewall everything worked perfectly. I'm just not used to people using windows firewall. Thats what I get for taking time off for the holidays.

Installation of an after market firewall should have turned off Windows firewall.

Do you mean to say that each of your computer is behind its own hardware firewall ?
