I have 7 computers networked together. Three running XP and 4 running Unix variants. Samba on each Unix box provides network shares. I can find each computer from my xp workstation and map network drives from its share. And I can go into network neighborhood and see my own computer, but none of the others. All the computers do belong to the same workgroup.

Do you have Norton Antivirus running on any of your computers?
There’s an oopsy in it. Changes some registry keys that can cause networking problems.

Thanks I am running Zone Alarm. Shut it down but that didn't help. So I logged off my user account which is still an admin acct and got on the XP 'owner' account, found each computer and turned off zone alarm and back on and it found everything.

Logged off got back on my user acct and w/ ZA running it's all showing up. Kind of weird if you ask me but I can't manage w/o running ZA on this machine.

Marty, if possible uninstall ZA & install the latest version on your machine. You might also have to clean the registry after uninstall to remove all traces of previous install of ZA.

Also check the option of using some other firewall. I have been using Outpost Pro for the last 2 years and had never faced any problem with it. You can take a test drive at www.agnitum.com.
