Network Disconnect

    I am running McAfee Virus Scan Online and Security Center with cable modem. After a period of inactivity (around 30 minutes) my PC disconnects from the network and I have to do a Restart. Is there a way to keep my network connection active all the time?

    Generate a little network activity every 15-25 minutes.

    Norton Internet Suite has a feature to ping a server at their site to keep track of your internet performance. It also functions as a connection "keep alive ".

    Same for any of the internet time synch programs you can download. Just set em to synch to a time server oftener than every 30 minutes.
