Network Connection question

    Hi ... In my Network Connection folder I notice that there is 3 things listed , they are 1394 connection which I know what this is for and I have my internet connection ( Dlink card ) on high speed , Okay but for some reason I just notice this new one its under the title Internet Gateway , All I see from it that its connected , Does anyone know what this is used for ? Also how can I totally remove it from my Network Connection ? This is if I decide to choose so ? Thanks

    That is your Router.

    Newer routers use a service called UP&P (universal Plug and Play)

    This service allows the router to have ports automatically forwarded for things like instant messenger file transfers, music downloads, ect.
