Network connection error

Recently I had some problems and I wanted to temporarily uninstall my firewall and activate WinPro’s own firewall. When I selected in my Advanced tab (in my Local Area Connection) and selected OK I got this message:

“Network Connections - An error ocurred while internet connection sharing was being unabled. The dependency service or group failed to start.â€

Does anybody know why is this happening? (I am using WinPro) Thanks for input.

go to start~run~services.msc and look down the list of services.

about half way down, there is a service named 'Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) / Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)'. make sure this service is running, if not, right click it and select properties. first change the startup type to 'Automatic' and then start the service by clicking the button labeled start underneath...

EDIT: you may also need to do the same with the following services:
Application Layer Gateway Service, Network Connections, Network Location Awareness (NLA), Remote Access Connection Manager.
