network card vs. enternet card

    are they one in the same or do i need both to get sbc dsl .

    Ethernet is the most common low level protocol used on modern networks. Therefore, an "Ethernet" card is a type of Network card. If you are looking for a wired network connection (as opposed to a wireless network connection) an Ethernet card will most certainly be the right card for you.

    In fact, it is probably very difficult nowadays to find a wired network card that was not Ethernet.

    What you should avoid are Token Ring network cards. That is the main alternative to Ethernet, but is relatively rare nowadays.

    Also look for network cards that are capable of at least 100Mb/s.
