Trying to connect an XP PC to windows7 shared folder, all permissions are set and firewall / Anti-virus configured correctly
Network Permission is refused. Any ideas?

    Thanks Clive

Does the XP machine boot up to a login screen? If it doesn't - I'm pretty sure it will help since Win7 has real tight security.

    Hello Steve,
To explain a little more fully, the Windows 7 PC has several drives. The XP PC can 'see' and gain access to one of the drives but permission is denied for all the others. The set-up, accessibility, security, etc. is identical for each drive yet Win 7 consistently denies access to these other drives. The drive check-boxes and set-ups have been meticulously checked and rechecked several times and they are all the same. I cannot understand why one drive is OK for access and all others are refused. Incidentally, the printer can be accessed as a 'network printer'. Trying to access the drives from my laptop PC has an identical result (printer access is OK on the laptop the way). I really am stuck.
    Suggestions would be very welcome.
    Best wishes.
    Clive.

    Hello Arie,
Many thanks for your suggestion re the 'link' to Win 7 as above. Several options were presented but the one that fixed the problem was to set both computers to the identical password.
    Thanks again.
    Clive.
