When I turn on my computer each morning, Norton personal firewall announces that it has blocked the netsky trojan horse. Details show that it originates at 127.0.0.1, which is on my computer. A full scan does not find Netsky, nor does the Norton netsky removal tool find it. This problem dates from just about the first day I set up the computer, which runs XP Pro, with Norton AV and firewall, both ad-aware and spybot S&D, and a hardware DSL router. I did not connect to the internet until both the AV and firewall were installed, then updated, along with updates to XP, and never directly connected, only through the router. I don't download strange programs, everything is well recommended, such as Netscape (7.1), Adobe Reader, etc. Any ideas on how this problem originated and, more importantly, how to get rid of it? Thanks, Bill

Possible the critter (or another one) has silently disabled Norton on your system.

From Quicklinks in my signature pick an online scanner and run it to see if any baddies show up.
