I have an xp/sp3 machine and a w98 machine that I need to wire together thru a linksys wrt120n router. I used the network wizard to create the lan it created a netsetup file to set up the other machine. It ended with a restriction error stating that "the operation cancelled due to restrictions on the computer. contact the system administrator ". Could this be a firewall problem on the xp machine? Oh yes, the machines were set up on a lan with this router until I had a problem with the xp machine and had to reinstall the router.

Don't use the network wizard on Win98. Just create the network 'manually'.
