Hi. I'm wondering why Mozilla 1.0 and Netscape 7 handle certain HTML codes very strangely. For example, Netscape 4, IE 6, and Opera 6 present definition lists with the link on one line and the "definition" or annotation indented one line below. Netscape 7 and Mozilla just put the "definition" on the same line as the link.

I've looked at serveral HTML guides (for example, the one from O'Reilly and also the Visual Quickstart series), and they all agree that the normal practice is to indent the definition on a new line. So why don't Netscape 7 and Mozilla 1.0 do this? Thanks for any suggestions.

You can adjust that by using Style Sheet. HTML 4 is recommended to work with Style Sheet for all formating issues.

Thanks very much, Antony. I've been avoiding style sheets (oh no, not another thing to learn), but I guess it's time.

you are welcome. I know it is pain to learn that, however you can get much more agreeable results between different browsers (of those support CSS)
