I used to view pages in my browser in a wrapped around text way. Now I have to scroll sideways to see the whole page. Some setting must have been changed somewhere but I can't figure out where. There's no "wrap text" option anywhere that I can find (I'm using Netscape 7.0). Same thing is happening in mail I read after I send it (wrap text option is on there, and it does wrap when I'm typing, but when I read the sent copy it's not wrapped and I have to scroll over).

    thx,

So you have to edit the file in windows? There's no option in Netscape to automatically edit/update the file behind the scenes (i.e. a checkbox, menu option, something else)? That's rather user-unfriendly (what were they thinking?)

I don't have Netscape myself, I'm asking this question on behalf of someone who does and bristle at the thought of explaining to them long distance how to start editing setup files.. may end up causing more problems than fixing them. Not all users are computer savvy.

Well, I'll send them the info and hopefully they'll follow the instructions correctly... one question though:

Does this (editing the user.js file) also fix the browser wrap problem or just the email wrap prob?

    Hi mikenowo,

Adding the script to the user.js is only for the Mail issue. Note, that you must first create a user.js file. It is not created by Netscape.

Might resetting the screen resolution in Windows resolve the window being too wide for the screen? I would suggest having them set the screen resolution to 800x600 for best results.

    Ramona :D

Haven't heard back from them yet but will suggest that too. Someone else suggested that upgrading to v7.1 might help, dunno <shrug>

Regarding the browser problem (as opposed to Email):

When browsing certain pages in Netscape you have to SCROLL all the way to the right to see the entire page. The same page viewed in Internet Explorer fits the window better and seems to wrap the text as opposed to having it continue on to the right. In tables, the columns seem far too long thus causing this effect as well (columns look shorter and text wraps better in IE). Is there some kind of 'wrap' option OR 'column length' option in Netscape that can fix this (don't see one)? If not, what may cause this problem and can it be corrected?

    Here is an example:
