i removed netscape toolbar via add/remove (and come to think it had to send in an error report cause it froze). install dogpile toolbar (like the crawler)
next dogpile is gone and there is netscape! neither toolbars are in add/remove dogpile is listed but not the" remove only." i have netscape unchecked via view and havent put dogpile back on yet. any ideas as to how to get rid of netscape toolbar or just leave unchechecked.

My experience with that toolbar has been to remove it from sight. You don't have to go to the Add/Remove, but directly from the box on the left of the toolbar. I don't know why your dogpile toolbar is not around. I would remove it, first, if you don't see it listed in the View|Toolbars. Then, make sure that your Netscape toolbar is nowhere to be seen, after rebooting if necessary.
I have never had a problem with it, but I had serious problems with the Yahoo toolbar in firefox, which had a mile of preferences in the prefs.js file. I had to delete everything, manually, and do some editing, before it would go away.

    Glad that something works.
As for my Yahoo Toolbar, everything except its supposed antispyware worked. I reported the problem, and they were able to reproduce it. So, I uninstalled the toolbar, which was no longer visible, but a toolbar folder still existed, as well as several line in the prefs.js file. In other words the uninstall was not.
