    Netscape Problems

About every 3 to 4 weeks, my Netscape refuses to open--ever! I have
to uninstall it and then download it again and reinstall. I edit my
class web page from home using Netscape and invariably at some
    critical time, it fails me.

Second problem. My computer will not let me open my Netscape mail. I
have to use my computer at school to check my Netscape email. :(

    merk,

Welcome to the board! The resident Netscape Guru, Ramona, will probably be by soon to help on this. In the meantime, which version of Netscape are you using? When uninstalled Netscape, did you remove any registry keys? Or did you just go through Add/Remove Programs?

    Mike

If your using N7x, some of the themes may cause mail lock out. Try using "Modern" theme. It behaves very well.
Why Netscape won't load ..... Check "Task List" for a open application.... Also check "target path ". Generally "Profile" problems do not have program load problems. Once "Ramona" checks in she'll get things worked out. Keep us posted.

I am using Netscape 7.0. I use the Add/Subtract to uninstalll. But sometimes I also go to "Search ", type in Netscape, and then delete any files that I'm permitted to do.

As I mentioned, this is an ongoing problem. I edit my class web page on Thursday nights. I should keep a log because about every third or fourth week, I find that Netscape will not "open ". Then I go through my routine. About half the time when I can get to Netscape, I can't open my mail. The rest of the time I can't. When Netscape shuts down, I can go to Netscape's site using IE, but I still cannot open my mail. I have to go to school to read my mail on my Netscape account.

N7x's using POP email plus 2x choices (IMAP & WEB view) to WEBmail services keeps all of us on our toes. If I understand, you are having trouble connecting to Netscape WEBmail from a URL view.
With N7 closed..... disable Quick Launch.
Open N7..... clear "Memory Cache" and "Disk Cache ".
Go to cookies and delete/remove all cookies.
Now close N7..... Re-open N7, try logging onto Netscape WEBmail URL.
When "Ramonia" checks in, she will give you excellent instructions for "Clean Installs ". That should clear up your once a month loading problems.

    Hi merk,
Hmmmmm. This might very well be your problem, if you are inadvertently deleting Netscape files, and not always uninstalling Netscape through the Add/Remove feature in Control Panel.

DennisL is right on with his advice, and you do need to start over with a
    Clean Install

If you have further questions, let us know.

    Ramona :D
