    Ramona,

I'm just now getting back to thinking about an earlier post received from you.

Are YOU sticking with Netscape 7.2 or are you going to go with something else?

Are you familiar with other browsers? Heaven knows I don't want to try something out and not have an expert in the background. <G>

I received a newsletter touting Firefox. What do you think?

    vegaspat,

I'm not using Netscape 7.2, due to the security vulnerabilities. I saw a post by Jay Garcia yesterday, when asked if AOL has plans to patch 7.2 to 7.3 or 7.2.1.

I am using Firefox and Thunderbird right now, and have also been using Mozilla 1.7.3. Mozilla 1.8 Alpha 4 was released yesterday, with two more alpha, and one beta release before the final 1.8, currently scheduled for 02/05. I like them all...

FF and TB are still in beta stage, but seem very stable. It's really a matter of personal choice.

    Ramona

Edited to correct the # of 1.8 alpha/beta, and final release.

This is my opinion, and nothing more than that. A security vulnerability does not make a program under attack. I agree with Ramona, that you should try to be as careful as possible. Firefox is still under development, and I have seen too many bugs in 1.0rc. Anyway Firefox does not have mail.
I don't believe that one will never be safe, because someone will always try some mischief. I suppose that I am offering a moving target by using almost everything. I have NS7.1 and 7.2 plus Mozilla1.7.3 and 1.8a4, and Firefox 0.9.3 and Firefox1.0rc, and, why not K-Meleon, based on Moz1.8a2.
