Netscape 7.1 won't print the graphics on a web page. The text works fine, but rectangles are printed where the images should be. IE works OK printing images of the same page. Anyone have any suggetions on how to, where to go in Netscape to fix my problem?

    Welcome to the Forum, n5lfh!

    Hi Greg,

First check the disk cache to make sure it wasn't set to zero, and then empty the Temp folders on your hard drive.

I doubt the error is in Netscape 7.1, it's more likely an old incompatible driver for your printer, or you have made some kind of change to your system that does not agree with the printer. If Netscape 7.1 print preview looks O.K., then the problem probably is not in Netscape. Have you checked to see if there are newer drivers available for your printer?

Have you canceled a print job recently? Try unplugging the printer
    1) switch off the printer.
    2) pull the electric cable
    3) pull the connector cable

Leave as is for 5-10 minutes! (this is to let the Printer-memory drain itself)
Reconnect all, (FIRST the connector cable, THEN the electric!)
    Switch on, try again!

If that doesn't work, read the manual of the printer. Check, that you haven't inadvertantly changed any switch settings.

Not that it helps, but I've never had a problem printing graphics in Netscape 7.

    Hi Ramona,
    Some of my efforts...

First check the disk cache to make sure it wasn't set to zero,

    100M

and then empty the Temp folders on your hard drive.

    Did that...there were alot

I doubt the error is in Netscape 7.1,

This is what throws me...Explorer will print the exact same web page with graphics? (jpegs I guess), so that lead me to a Netscape setting. I've never had ths problem with previous Netscape....been using it since 2.???

it's more likely an old incompatible driver for your printer

updated, but I think I got the same driver

or you have made some kind of change to your system that does not agree with the printer.

That could be, but we haven't had this notebook very long...ie. not too much time to change settings

If Netscape 7.1 print preview looks O.K.,

Preview looks perfect...I previewed this (reply) page before sending it, but when I printed the WINDOWSBBS and MVP (banner??) didn't print, also the background colors are missing

then the problem probably is not in Netscape.

Internet Explorer prints fine, but I don't know much about it...always been a Netscape person

Have you checked to see if there are newer drivers available for your printer?

    Seems to be the latest

Have you canceled a print job recently? Try unplugging the printer
    1) switch off the printer.
    2) pull the electric cable
    3) pull the connector cable

Haven't tried this yet....I'll get back

Leave as is for 5-10 minutes! (this is to let the Printer-memory drain itself)
Reconnect all, (FIRST the connector cable, THEN the electric!)
    Switch on, try again!

If that doesn't work, read the manual of the printer. Check, that you haven't inadvertantly changed any switch settings.

    It's a Lexmark X125 all-in-one

Not that it helps, but I've never had a problem printing graphics in Netscape 7.

I don't remember if I had 7.0 on this PC or if it failed to print...I doubt it as it's new since Jan.

    Thanks for this
    Greg
