    Hey Daizy,

That is a Netscape Secure Newsgroup (secnews.netscape.com) and uses Port 563, secure connection (SSL). As I don't have OE on my system, not sure what takes place with IE/OE, or what the configuration would be, or if you can access this group with your ISP... ?

There you go, another Internet Exploder user, that's just can't see the light!
Our Secure Groups exclude Spammers, and we're quite selective about whom we allow to read and post. (Does that sound a little like His Brettness?)

    Nanernanernana....:p

There's an old adage, that goes:
I don't want any part of a club that would have brett as it's member.

Or something like that! :D :p

    Hi Daizy,

Netscape WILL let you into it's secure newsgroups using Outlook Express! Just add the secnews.netscape.com news account and, on the Advanced tab, enter the port number 563 and check off SSL.

    The message Ramona quoted was:
Subject: Netscape NEEDS your help !!
    From:Jay Garcia <Mozilla@Netscape.JayGarcia.com>
    Date: Tue, 26 Nov 2002 19:15:57 -0600
    Newsgroups: netscape.netscape7.windows

This link should add the account "secnews.netscape.com" [port 563, SSL] and download the current messages: snews://secnews.netscape.com/netscape.netscape7.windows

It's just that Ramona's link doesn't work using Internet Explorer.

what brett mentioned (I think) taken from a groups.google search of the netscape.public.general group.

One thing I don't like about netscape's secure groups is that they are not searchable at groups.google :(
