    Hi,

    A friend is having a problem downloading email from our server.

    Yesterday I changed over the mail program running on the server (from Sendmail to Qmail).

    What changed is that the username now includes the domain name.

    So if at first the Username was account, it should now be specified as account@infinisource.com (infinisource.com being our domain).

    This however fails authorization in messenger.... All other email clients work (Outlook Express, Calypso)...

    Does anybody have any leads on this?

    OK, figured it out!

    Have to use % instead of @

    So: account%infinisource.com

    Greetings Fearless Leader!

    Hi Arie,

    Sorry I was out when you came calling for help. But glad that you found a workaround for your friend.

    Another workaround is to add this line to the prefs.js file:

    user_pref( "mail.allow_at_sign_in_user_name ", true);

    This also works on Netscape 6.x

    No problem...

    I went to the server, and looked at the logfile while I tried a login, and I noticed that NSCP didn't send the @infinisource.com part....

    So I thought I try if % works.... and it did :D

    I'll tell him about the change in prefs.js.
