I've been using Netscape 4.7 as my email client. Recently, my broadband service changed from ATTBI to Comcast. Now, whenever I go to check for messages or to send one, a dialog box pops up asking for my password. Is there any way to prevent this from occurring?

    Jack1642,

Welcome to the board! First of all, make sure that the "remember password" box is checked. You may also want to try a new Profile to see if you get the same problem.

    Check here as well:

(FAQs How do I manually configure my e-mail client?)

    http://online.comcast.net/faqs/faq-detail.asp?intFaqID=48&intSubCategoryID=158
    (Configure Netscape 4.5-4.7 section)

You may need to EDIT your Netscape mail server settings to reflect new mail incoming and outgoing mail server names (newsserver too, if you use it)

. According to the first link above, your comcast mail and newsgroup settings are:

    # POP3 (Incoming Mail) Server: mail.comcast.net
    # SMTP (Outgoing Mail) Server: smtp.comcast.net
    # Your E-Mail address: e-mail ID@comcast.net

    # News Groups: netnews.comcast.net
